NEW MEMBER ONLY WORKSHOP

This workshop is for new members only. You are considered a new member for 6 months after joining.

In this workshop you will be designing a snowflake/star using diamond shapes (see pictures). You will be learning how to use the Beetle Bits cutting system to make the diamond shapes.

You can make star/snowflake to hang or to be a decoration for a 6”x6” plate.  IF you are going to hang your project, you will need to purchase kiln (papyros) paper at the front desk during store hours.  IF you are making a plate, you will need to provide the 6”x6” base sheet of glass. It is possible to add a few embellishments to your star/snowflake. Dots, stringers, and frit work best. The instructor will have some embellishment materials available for those who need them. The firing fee will be $1.00 for the hanging star/snowflake. The firing fee for the plate will be &1.50.

YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS TO THIS WORKSHOP:

ALLNEW MEMBERS ONLY participants:

* two different colors of 1”x12” strips of COE 96 opal glass - the two strip colors should be complimentary to each other

*embellishment materials (dots, stringers & frit work best) if you have them

* money for the firing fees (small bills please)

* IF you plan to hang your project:

* one 6”x6” tile (can be bought at the store or borrowed from the studio) &

* 6”x6” kiln (papyros) paper

* IF you are making a plate:

* one 6”x6” sheet of COE 96 opal or transparent glass to act as your base color

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BRING THE FOLLOWING BASIC SUPPLIES TO EVERY WORKSHOP:

* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (quilting mats work best)

* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white) & a needle-nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray

* Writing Tools: black Sharpies (fine and regular), pen, pencil 

* Other helpful items: tweezers, toothpicks, and a carrying box for projects

* Safety Items: safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, band-aids

* Bring a firing ticket!
