Workshop Level: Intermediate/Advanced: Able to create stained glass projects independently; experience with cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering. Familiar with specialized tools and supplies. Trained in all studio equipment.

Are you ready to challenge yourself to take your creativity & your SG skills to the next level? Work alongside the Mentor through all the steps of creating a SG panel of your choice. Pick a pattern/design and glass based on your creative style.

• Learn how to transfer a design onto pattern paper
• Learn how to build a jig
• Learn tips to improve cutting, fitting, and building in order to avoid gaps
• Learn tricks for better foiling and the application of using multiple widths of copper foil within a panel.
• Improve soldering skills
• Learn to frame your panel in lead came to accommodate a wood frame

There are many SG pattern books at the studio and online. Patti Kenmore and Stephanie Andrews also have many patterns that you are welcome to copy.

Bring your cartoon/pattern/design, copied (2) to the exact size of your panel on the FIRST DAY, along with your work board, and metal jigs, if you have them.

General supplies to bring to class:

• Glass for your panel
• Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Breaking/Grozer Pliers, cutting oil, Water based glue stick, cutting surface (Quilt-type mats work best)
• Board for building your panel: Press board, Homasote board, or backer board
• Metal Jigs for framing cartoon/pattern on board (if you have them)
• Horseshoe nails & hammer, regular scissors, and pattern scissors for foil
• Writing Tools: Black & Silver Sharpies (fine and regular), Red or Blue colored pencil
• 3/16" & 7/32" black backed foil, burnishing tools, exacto knife
• Solder, flux, flux brush, patina
• Paper towels and Rubbing Alcohol
• A carrying box for supplies
• Safety Items: Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids

Mentor will supply Pattern Paper & Carbon Paper for transferring pattern and Wood mouldings & nails for making a jig
