NEW MEMBERS ONLY Workshop 

This workshop is for new members only. You are considered a new member for 6 months after joining.

In this workshop you will get lots of practice cutting on a curve and using the grinder.

You will be given three bird patterns to use on whatever color of glass you'd like - opaque or transparent. Each bird will need a 4"x5" rectangular piece of COE 96 glass. You can make the birds all the same color or different colors. (See attached pictures.) After scoring and cutting your birds, you will embellish them with materials such as: scrap glass, dots, stringers, and frit. The instructor will have embellishment materials available for those who don't have them. Each bird will cost $.50 to fire.

You must have the following supplies for this workshop:

* three 4"x5" rectangles of glass (If you need help cutting them prior to the workshop, contact Judy at 763.516.1769.)

* any embellishment materials you may have (scrap glass, dots, stringers, frit, etc.)

* a "shoe box" type box to nip scrap glass into

* 3 firing tickets

* $1.50 for the three firing fees

OTHER GENERAL SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:

* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best)

* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white), Needle nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray

* Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Pen & Pencil

* Other helpful items:Tweezers, Toothpicks, A carrying box for projects

* Safety Items: Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids

* Bring a firing ticket!
