This workshop is offered to new members only. You are considered a new member for 6 months after joining.
Join us in this workshop to learn how to design and slump a soap dish/sponge dish. This dish will measure 6"x4" and will have a clear glass base and a top sheet of 6"x4" glass that can be opaque or transparent. You will have a chance to use embellishments (scrap glass, dots, stringers, etc.) to create a design on your dish. The instructors will have some embellishment materials for those who need them. There will be two firings - the initial firing, and the 2nd firing using a slump mold. Please bring $2.00 ($1.00 each) to pay for these two firings.
YOU MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES TO THIS WORKSHOP:
* a sheet of 6"x6" sheet COE 96 glass for your base
* a sheet of 6"x6" colored glass (your choice of opaque or transparent)
* any embellishments you may want to use for your design - if you have them
General supplies to bring to class:
* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best)
* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white), Needle nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray
* Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Pen & Pencil
* Other helpful items:Tweezers, Toothpicks, A carrying box for projects
* Safety Items: Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids
* Bring a firing ticket!
