INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED LEVEL WORKSHOP
Intermediate: Able to design and create simple projects with minimal guidance; trained on all studio equipment. Fusers are learning about special firing programs.
In this workshop you will be creating the illusion of a basket weave pattern (see picture).

For this project you will need to precut twenty-two 8”x1/2” strips of COE 96 glass. You can choose the colors and decide if you want all transparent, all opaque, or a mix. (You may want to cut a few extra of each color in case one breaks.) You will be creating the “basket” effect by overlapping your colored strips on a 12”x9” tile. If you choose, you can bring an 8”x8” clear to build your strips on. (In that case you won’t need the tile.) The 1st firing fee will be $3.50 if using the tile. If you build your basket weave on clear glass, the first firing fee will be $2.50. The slumping fee will be $2.50.
You need to have the followings supplies for this project:
* twenty-two precut 8”x1/2” strips (plus some extra) - your choice of colors
* 12”x9” tile AND a 9”x9” sheet of kiln paper (if you want an open-style weave without a clear base)
* an 8”x8” sheet of clear (if you want to have a clear base)
* optional - embellishment materials such as stringers, noodles, dots
