INTERMEDIATE LEVEL WORKSHOP:
Intermediate: Able to design and create simple projects with minimal guidance; trained on all studio equipment. Fusers are learning about special firing program.
This shaman has no magical powers, other than to make people smile when displayed in your home or given as a gift to those who enjoy Southwest art and design. Our shaman will be appox. 15" tall by 14" wide.

Day 1: We will assemble your shaman and prepare for firing.
Supplies to bring for Day 1, other than those needed for all workshops that are listed below include:
12x12 sheet 3mm clear glass
12x12 sheet opaque colored glass for robe
8x9 piece of colored glass for shawl (swirl or solid opaque)
5x5 piece colored opaque or transparent glass for head and hands
Small paint brushes (instructor will supply Glassline paint)
Decorative glass scraps and pieces you might want to add before firing.
18" x 20" ( or slightly larger) piece of cardboard or wood to assemble shaman on. Kiln paper will be provided.
Day 2: We will embellish your shaman with beads, babbles, furs, etc. to make your creation worthy of the title "Shaman".
Supplies needed for Day 2:
Beads, feathers, piece of leather or fur, old jewelry, needle nose pliers, etc. (This will be discussed on Day 1)
Instructor will provide hanger for mounting your shaman and some decorative glass, beads, wire, leather cording, etc.
$6 due to instructor for provided supplies the first day of class.
General supplies to bring to class:
* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best)
* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white), Needle nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray
* Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Pen & Pencil
* Other helpful items:Tweezers, Toothpicks, A carrying box for projects
* Safety Items: P-100 Mask, Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids
* Bring a firing ticket!
