  • A beginner workshop making interesting plant stakes.

Registration is closed

Workshop Level:  Beginner:  Learning to cut basic shapes and follow a line, familiar with basic tools & supplies.  Fusers understand full, contour, tack, slump firing programs.

Instruct students how to make the components and assemble interesting plant stakes for a variety of uses.  The beginner will learn how to make/nip flowers and leaves and other enhancements.  Students will learn how to cut plant stakes on the Beetle Bit.  

  

Bring to class 1/2 sheet of clear or transparent glass, 1 sheet of papyrus (purchase at our store if needed), scrap glass, dots, stringers.  Other enhancements such as dichro or vitrograph will work also.  Get your glass early!!!  

 

We will have some free scrap glass to help you with your stakes. And we will sell some Dichro and or Vitrograph  in the classroom for you to experiment with and decorate your plant stakes for a small charge.


General Supplies to bring to class:

*Glass cutting tools:  Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grosers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (quilt-type mats work best)

* Glues:  Elmers (clear or white), Needle-nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray

*Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Pen & Pencil

*Other Helpful Items:  Tweezers, Toothpicks, a carrying box for projects

*Safety Items:  P-100 Mask, Safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, band-aids

*Bring a firing Ticket!
