  • Out of several choices, students will make an approx. 8"x6" for Three but larger size for the fourth cross of your choice.

Registration is closed

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:

A new fourth cross for you to choose from has been added with different directions, below.

Able to design and create simple projects with minimal guidance; trained on all studio equipment.  Fusers are learning about special firing programs.

Students will complete cross of their choice, approximate size 8" x 6".

You will need at least 1/2 sheet of 2mm or 3mm clear glass for base and enough glass, either transparent or opalescent, your choice, to complete the cross you have chosen.  I would suggest at least 1/3 sheet (4" x 12") of each color you decide to use on your chosen cross.  Some crosses can be completed using only beetle bits & toyo.  Ring saw may be used on some.

Please Note: A fourth cross has just been added and it has a different size and requirements - as follows:

A clear glass base will be cut on the ring saw.  Strips of color will be cut on beetle bits.  You will need a whole sheet of clear glass for the base as cross is 14” long.  You will need a piece of plywood, cutting board or some other hard surface at least 16”x10” to make it.  Your choice of glass colors, the “brown” glass shown actually turns gray & I used various green glass for center.  Piece shown is not yet fused, I will tack or contour.  Please call instructor for more info.

Instructor can provide clear acrylic keyhole hangers if you want at cost ($4.00).  Wooden stands can also be provided for $5.00 (please advise in advance).
