A WORKSHOP FOR NEW MEMBERS ONLY
(You are considered a new member for 6 months after joining the club.)
Join us to design a sparkling winter tree using clear glass. It will be built on a 4”x7” clear triangular base, and then we will add layered “branches” of clear scrap glass onto the base.
(You may want to bring some transparent green glass to use as branches also.) You can then decide any embellishments you may want to add such as dots or frit.
The instructors will have extra clear scrap for your branches and extra embellishment materials available. * Please do not depend on our studio store for the supplies you need for this workshop. If you are ordering the glass you need for this workshop from Southwest Art Glass (SWAG), you must have your order in by Friday, October 31st. You can also get fused glass from Tucson Stained Glass on Grant Ave. in Tucson.
You will need the following supplies for this workshop:
* Tools - Toyo cutter, nippers, running pliers, grozer
* one 6”x12” sheet of clear COE 96 glass
* Optional - one 6”x6” sheet of COE 96 transparent green glass
* Glues - both Elmers & a needle-tip bottle of pump hairspray (Suave works best.)
* Black Sharpie
* 12” ruler
* Embellishment materials - dots, frit (irid clear is especially nice), if you have some
* Safety glasses
Remember to wear closed-toe shoes.
