GVR GLASS ARTISTS CLUB

PRESIDENT'S
  MESSAGE

A very happy bunch celebrated the opening of our Glass Arts Studio on Feb 23rd. The standing room only crowd in the studio spilled over into the halls and adjacent rooms -- and they kept coming all day! GVR Board President Marge Garneau and CEO Scott Somers participated with me in snipping the red ribbon.

The room was bursting with enthusiasm and smiles, while "Celebration" played and our show of glass art scrolled on the new TV monitors. Tours of the studio generated a lot of questions from sincerely interested folk -- and we picked up three new members who had previously taken the Intro course.

Here are snips from some of the emails I've received this afternoon:

"They are truly an amazing club." GVR Board member

"Kudos to everyone who had the vision and made this happen!!!!" GVR Board member

"The positive energy was bouncing off the walls - it was so exciting. It's a beautiful space and I'm looking forward to learning more. " GAC member

"So much to love about the new facility!" GAC member

As a "welcome to SRS", we received flowers from the Clay Studio and a lovely watercolor card with notes from members of the Santa Rita Art League. We are going to love collaborating with the SRS clubs.

Thank you to the GAC members who worked so hard these past seven years to complete this project, and to all the GVR members who supported us.

 COMING UP

Open Studios at Santa Rita Springs was full of energy, fun and smiles for everyone.  More than 150 visitors toured the new Glass Arts Studio and enjoyed talking with our members the artistic possibilities of mosaics, fusing and stained glass.  And we love sharing our passion for glass!

Thank you to all our volunteers, and to the Clay Studio for organizing the event.

GLASS
ARTISTS

Is your style beautiful, whimsical, geometric or something in between? Glass Artists create unique art to add color and sparkle to their homes and gardens, and to give to friends and family. Serving dishes, wall art, garden art or decor – it all happens at the Glass Artists Club in Green Valley.

We provide a working studio, instruction and a collaborative vibe for stained glass, fused glass and mosaic glass artists.  Our members range from beginners to advanced artists sharing tips and techniques.

Our new studio at Santa Rita Springs Center offers members a well-equipped, safe, open studio for fusing or mosaics; separate areas for pursuing interests in stained glass or frit work; areas for cold working, kiln firing, and a classroom.

Membership is open to all GVR members with an annual dues of $40. Taking one of our introductory courses through GVR is required to join the Club. See the current GVR catalog for:  Introduction to the Glass Arts – Fusing; Introduction to Glass Arts – Mosaics; or Introduction to Glass Arts – Stained Glass.
